March is sincerely a great time to visit Egypt, and I can say this from personal experience. When I traveled to Cairo, I made the blunder of going in September when the weather was brutally hot. Trust me, you want to aim for the cooler months instead.

During the peak summer, temperatures reach a high of 93ºF, but in March, you’re looking at around 76ºF. Since you’re in the desert, even modest temperatures can feel significantly hotter under direct sun, especially when you’re standing near the pyramids with no shade in sight.

I recommend spending your first day at the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum. Give yourself a few nights in Cairo because there’s so much to understand.

I absolutely loved exploring these ancient wonders without sweating through my clothes every five minutes.The next day, try wandering through Islamic Cairo and visiting Khan el-Khalili, the famous bazaar.
